High winds from collapsing thunderstorms produced minor structural damage in Yoakum, Gaines, Cochran, Bailey, Hockley, Lamb, and Roosevelt (NM) counties during the evening hours of May 25, 2008. DENVER CITY 7WNW: This station was hit hard by the initial downburst. Peak wind gust was 78 mph.


PLAINS 3N: This station was next in line for the strong winds. Peak wind gust was 75 mph.


SUNDOWN 8WSW: This station had an extended period of high winds with the intial outflow surge followed by virga-induced winds. Peak wind gust was 79 mph.


LEVELLAND 4S: This station also experienced high winds with the initial outlfow boundary followed by strong virga-induced winds. Peak wind gust was 69 mph.
