KLBB Radar Clear-Air Mode reflectivity loop for August 21, 2008. The initial image shows the locations of Wind Farms and the location of Clarity Tunnel in northeast Floyd County. The bats emerge just after 8 pm local time (082208/0110Z). A second group of bats emerge approximately 20 minutes later. Both groups of bats drift off to the north and northeast on a developing low-level jet located near the caprock escarpment.

The bats have been showing up on radar for the last couple of days around sunset. Watch for the bats tonight around sunset on the KLBB Radar if there are no storms in that region!!!. There is an estimated 1-3 million bats that leave the tunnel every evening.
